Day of the Dead and Loving it!

Just finished a new painting and it is huge! 24 x 48 inches! I love this one! Had an absolute blast making it! I collaged her whole dress with scrapbook papers and painted the rest. It's for sale now in the OOA Gallery on ebay! I love Day of the Dead!

 

Wood Grain and Mother Earth

New Painting! I call it Earth Mother. I have been painting on wood a lot lately and wanted a painting where the wood actually shows well. There is something so beautiful about the wood grain. I love that I was able to let that show on this one!

FRIDA!

New Painting! I call it Frida's Wings. She's for sale now in the OOA Gallery. 

I started by collaging the background with papers from an old bible. I then drew my image and began to paint. The wings were carved into modeling paste and then antiqued when they dried.  She is painted on wood with 1 1/2 inch sides that have been painted black.

New Paintings on Ebay!

I have several new painting for sale on Ebay right now. I'm a bit slow in posting these due to the holidays. The first one will be ending today.

Gothic and Angelic

I have some new paintingss that were just recently listed with OOA. The first has gothic feel. I call it Love Lost III. I've done two others along this same theme. 

This other one is an Angel I call "Angel with Wings of Music" She actually happened by accident. I wasn't sure what I was planning do with the composition. I Started out collaging the background with some old sheet music I had found at a flea market in Albuquerque, NM. I decided after I had it on there that I really didn't like it, and so proceeded to rub it off. The effect was wonderful! It now looked like a transfer. When I started to paint I made sure to rub the paint thin over the face and wings. The wings almost look like fairy wings. I especially love this painting and I hope it goes to a good home!

New Original Madonna and Child painting

I am so excited to finally have another original painting done and up for auction. It took me longer than I thought to get back in the painting groove  after my recent move. The new painting went live last night in the OOA gallery store. It's a Madonna and child, just in time for the holidays!
